Research

We are plant virus detectives, looking for viruses that impact the yield and quality of plants.

The main goal of our work is to develop strategies that will allow growers to make informed decisions that will help minimize the economic losses caused by virus-like agents.

In order to accomplish this task, research is needed to identify the pathogens involved in disease.  Only by understanding the biology of the diseases and their associated pathogens can we develop a management strategy to help our industry partners.

Learn about the research we’re working on involving apple green crinkle, little cherry disease, cherry decline caused by cherry leaf roll virus, cherry rusty mottle disease, and  hop stunt disease of hops.
